KRAKEN RUM & PECAN BRIE
(based on Cathy’s Kahlua Pecan & Brown Sugar Brie @ noblepig.com)
*I used a goat’s milk brie which is half the size of traditional cow’s milk brie. It can also taste shockingly different than cow’s milk, so I will give you the full-sized cow milk Brie recipe here:
1 LG round of Brie
Kraken Rum Reduction:
1 cup rum
1 cup brown sugar
2 generous pinches of salt (just do it!)
handful of pecans
Preheat oven to 350 and bake brie for 15 min.
Meanwhile… bring rum, sugar & salt to a boil. Lower heat to simmer for 10-12 minutes. Add pecans and stir for a couple minutes, coating pecans thoroughly with rum sauce. This will candy them and make them irrisistible.
Finally, pour the rum reduction with pecans over the baked Brie. Serve with crackers.
